A big part of being in a successful festival-style wedding band involves a fair bit of driving about the place. One minute we could be in a field in Norwich supplying premium wedding entertainment and enjoying a lovely summers quiche, the next BANG SMACK in the middle of canary wharf London tucking in to some virgin sheep or young lamb. You might think I'm exaggerating for comic effect for an eye catching intro, a tool to reel a festival nights blog watcher deep into a fishing net made from dense prose, but you sir would be wrong! Thats just your average summer weekend for us and these exact events happened last month minus the deep nets of prose...
Whilst the actual functions itself vary quite considerably, the drives are always the same....motorway after motorway, services after services, lampost after lampost, middle lane hogger after middle lane hogger, guys with personalised number plates that say stuff like 'Dev 09' after guys with personalised number plates that say stuff like 'Dev 09', people who drive late at night with their full beams so close to your back bumper that you can actually feel their breath on the back of your neck so that you may as well stare at the sun from 4m away. I mean who are these people? What kind of lives have they left to maintain this weird unusual habit?...after people who drive late at night with their full beams so close to your back bumper that you can actually feel their breath on the back of your neck so that you may as well stare at the sun from 4m away. So what do we do to entertain us on these long drives, to keep us sane, to keep us alive?
PODCASTS! That's what! We're rifling through podcasts like a sniffling 80's businessman through a rolodex. They bring us laughter, joy, tears and quiet mumbling to ourselves (mumblings such as 'ah thats interesting, I didn't know that' or 'ah Kate Bush, wow...') Here is a compiled list of our favourites for you to sink you ears into:
